Your journey, step by step

Some general guidance. Every situation is different: always talk it over with your doctor. These steps do not necessarily come in this order.

    See a specialised team

    A team that often treats your type of cancer knows its tests and treatments well. If this is not already the case, ask your doctor who they can refer you to.

  2. Step 2

    Ask for a second opinion

    You can ask another specialist for their opinion, and it is not a sign of distrust. Depending on your insurance (family doctor model, HMO…), go through your doctor first so that the consultation is covered.

  3. Step 3

    Consider a clinical trial

    A clinical trial studies a new treatment or a new way of treating. GeoClinicalTrials helps you find the ones that are recruiting. Your doctor and the trial team will tell you whether you can take part. Taking part is always your choice.

    Supportive care and nutrition

    Pain, fatigue, eating: supportive care and nutritional follow-up can help, from diagnosis, during and after treatment. Talk to your doctor or to the team caring for you.
